How old were you when you had your very first boyfriend/girlfriend? Do you still know them now?

I was 15. He was 18. I had had a crush on him for 10 months. We fell in love and were together for 3 years. I know, 3 years is a lot for a first relationship. It had its good moments. He was in love. But, was I really in love? I'm still trying to figure it out. I keep in touch with him and run into him sometimes. No, contrary to his objective, I don't plan on getting back together with him.
Sometimes I regret being in a relationship for so long while being so young. I really missed out on a lot of things. I spent too much time with my boyfriend and then I realized that it was hurting my friendships. I don't think a teenager should be in such a serious relationship like that. Now I'm so happy that I don't have to worry because if I want to hang out with my friends I might hurt my boyfriend, or just to make plans and think about including a boyfriend. It's just a relief to not have it on my mind right now. I think you miss out on meeting a lot of people.
Do we mean love, when we say love?
